A company taking the right steps to better health and fitness!

From early on, researchers such as Roy J. Shepard showed that work site exercise programs had a tremendous value for the employee and employer. Benefits includes:

  • An improvement of corporate image
  • A decrease in employee turnover
  • Gains of productivity
  • Reduced absenteeism and medical costs
  • An improved employee lifestyle.

Health and performance statistics show these benefits to be true over and over again for companies that embark on such a program. Healthy, fit and motivated employees will reduce their overall stress level. They will be more present at work , be efficient and yield higher returns on investment. As a result the whole corporation will prosper and grow. Companies are becoming more and more concerned with stress levels among employees. This is why they are taking their fitness levels more seriously.

Workers who are fit are less stressed, more alert throughout the whole day, make less errors and make better decisions. A study at NASA suggests that productivity of non-exercising office workers decreased by 50% during the final 2 hours of the work day while the workers who exercised worked at full capacity all day. Companies such as Dupont have reduced their absenteeism by 14-19% through a workplace fitness program while General Mills reports an astounding 45% decrease.(Wellness Programs, Stephanie Sullivan)

Becoming proactive in your own, as well as your employees’ health, makes good business sense. Promoting wellness programs can have substantial impact on productivity, profitability and provide a more positive work environment.

The advantage for the employer / employee of training on site :

1. Efficient and structured fitness program led by a team of professionals;
2. Personal service for every candidate;
3. No travelling time;
4. A one-time investment for equipment;
5. No need for a large room (approx. 400 sq. feet).

A team leader will personally come in and assess your needs. He / she will set upon a program with respect to your space, employee availability and overall budget for equipment and training costs. Every candidate will fill out a medical questionnaire, followed by a body composition evaluation including blood pressure and resting heart rate readings. A personal training program and nutritional plan will follow for each person. Every candidate will be re-evaluated every 8 weeks to measure the progress and start a new training regime.These structured steps will ensure success if the candidate follows the plan.

Every successful company could set an example at the top. The employer should embark on the program to set the tone. Together you can become a healthy, fit and productive company!

The health screening at the beginning also serves as an early detection of health problems. Our priority for each person is improved health and fitness parameters. From personal experience, the one-on-one personal training approach is the most successful because of the strong client-coach bond that is formed. Semi-private and group training can also be very beneficial. In each case the goal remains the same: improve one’s well being through exercise and proper nutrition which will benefit both the employee and employer.
